General

Text should be written in third person, standard English whenever possible. Both American and UK spellings are acceptable. If materials are posted to provide content for distribution to prevention targets, the language style can be crafted to make it appropriate for the intended audience.

Authors should not break voice and add editorial comments within the text. Heavy use of parenthetical statements, quotes or jargon are to be avoided.

References should be provided to validate facts presented.

Formatting

Formatting should be simple. The use of varying fonts and emphasis should be limited. Where possible content should be divided into subsections to facilitate easy reading and editing by others. Excessive use of HTML or wiki codes makes editing by others difficult and should also be avoided.

Footnotes and References

Style for references and footnotes are still to be determined. For now use a style that feels comfortable, and we can see if an agreed upon format emerges. But make sure you use them. You can create a footnote identifier using a " " tag. Then place the reference in a Reference section on the bottom of the page.

By using the following code, you can create a workable reference:

Example text.[[#References |1]]

Will produce:

Example text.1

Reference Section

Then don't forget to add a ==References== section. Within that section, you can use the '#' to create a numbered list of citations.
